Generally, most Malaysians don’t care about nature preservation/Global warming even logging. Not many want to talk on the Timber industry that has been twisted and manipulated by many sides. Click here for proof or my story that Malaysian simply don’t care about wildlife or marine conservation.

One of my main objectives of this blog (yeah still is :p) is to focus on preservations. My apologies of pending this issue for a long time. I’ve been wanting to write on this for sometime. As some to me might know, I’m a total anti-Logging person, you name it illegal logging even legal logging. (in malay  : SAYA ANTI PEMBALAKAN HARAM mahupun HALAL, lol)…….. I think it’s time to substitute logging with other economical activities, for example tourism. Imagine the whole world with less forest and we have what they don’t have. Take example Europe,  most Europe countries don’t have a single original forest, those still standing are planted forest turned to parks. I don’t want to see Malaysia turn into a barren grey and dusty country like Java island. There’s hardly any forest there, can you imagine! Okay maybe I’m exaggerating but since we don’t have any over populated situation, I don’t see why we need to cut off our trees.

Being born in a tropical country I’m proud to have among the most oldest/untouched rain forest in the world, having a few so called national parks, and so called reserve forest. Also so many beautiful islands. (including Sipadan which was nominated at one of the 7 wonders of nature in the world) But do you guys realized that we have been robbed in daylight? You remember when Bush attacked Iraq and everyone said theres was no MWD and they still attacked? This is the same scenario when our so called politicians says there’s allays controlled logging. I bet one fine day when all the forest are gone, they will come out with an idea, we were fooled by the forestry department. That’s why in my entry“Conspiracy of Silence give thieves a field day” I’m amazed on how we could let this happen in front of our bare eyes. Those who fortunate enough having helicopters or even those light weight/flight school cadets might know, as whenever flying over malaysian  reserve forest they would be empty holes which are effects of logging. Mostly illegal logging.

According to an undated .pdf file from Sabah forestry they are 7 types of Forest zones.

The report was more mixed on Malaysia and Ghana. While Malaysia has less overall illegal logging than the other nations evaluated, it has not seen any conclusive improvement over the last decade in combating the problem. Transparency is one of Malaysia’s largest problems. source

Transparency? You see. I don’t wish to elaborate more on this. Let this be a study on how logging will effect Malaysians as whole in the Future. It’s always good to prevent rather then to cure? After the deforestation activities, how far reforest plans would work and how far are the authorizes really honest in the implementation. Look at the small “Air Hitam Forestry” in Selangor for an example. How dare some developers ask a piece of it for redevelopment.  However in some cases redevelopment that requires logging can be forgiven after studies and all. But imagine logging in the middle of the jungle just because for the economy of a few greedy people ? I’m some have valid reasons but dare I say only some.

I will explain/cover more on this in my next entry as I’m too tired to update/write. I will continue my study on this matter and share my finding  with you guys someday. So stay tuned to many other v2 v3 and so on until someone UP THERE really hears and takes action. What are your thoughts on this? To the authorities, give us proof that logging is under control and No illegal logging is happening anymore. Yes You! If you know something fishy is happening, please do something or at least share with us. How could future generations enjoy nature  like these -> scenery1, scenery2 and scenery3 . What will 2050 look like?

“together, Let’s save our dying tropical forest”

Have you ever been to place that you have been so many years before and still be amazed that you totally forgot on how beautiful it is? Sometimes when we go to somewhere, or as time passes  by, we tend to forget on what we have experienced. We only capture a few moments or even a few pictures in our mind. Thank god someone found digital camera and made it affordable. (except those DSLRs) .A million years ago, I came here with my family. We were only using kodak/film camera. Nikon if I’m not mistaken. I can’t find my old photos of this lake.

Below is my personal favorites, if only i had a DSLR! Next time I’ll take videos of this place to share with you guys, but I’m not sure myself how many years would “next time” be. Besides this I’m also looking forward to other nature trips.  Maybe i’ll follow my cousin who loves fishing. Ive always wanted to follow him but until now haven’t the guts or even time to spend with him. I guess I’ll put that in my travel list for next year. Bro Hizir, if you are reading this , count me in your fishing trips! haha.

I love the sky and tone. Looks like a painting. Maybe I’ll print this 12MB (original) picture and hang it somewhere.

As I was looking to my F1 collections, I found this old photo. It was this pledge thing organized by the Honda F1 Racing team. The idea was simply. Instead of the normal advert livery that you see on F1 cars, thy come out with a livery depicting the planet with people’s pledges on green efforts. It was like a more eco-friendly awareness. (yeah F1 can be polluted we could argue on this)

How to do it? Basically all one needed to do was pledge on something green then fill a form from earthdream page. Then, your name and pledge will apply all over the Honda’s F1 body. So people all around the world got their names on the car but for a limited number. It was like once in a lifetime having your name on the car. Although I was still a Ferrari fan, but I just did it for fun as an F1 enthusiast.

2 years later, the same exact people but different owner  was involved in the 2009 Brawn GP Fairytale Champ^_^ I know the Greenpeace might mock Honda’s efforts but at least they tried.

And what was my pledge? - to Recycle all my paper.

Did I stand on my pledge? Yes but only for that year I’m trying my best this year. + I have new pledges as well

What about you guys?  any pledges? Less carbon  footprint? More public transport? Less electricity consumption/emissions? No plastic bags? (nowadays I’m bringing my Ikea blue shopping bag everywhere) /use hybrids for those who can effort? /Less Showering?

It’s not shocking to say that Malaysia is full with thieves! Name it, sand thieves, illegal logging, people’s funds, white collar crimes and so on. We see this, we know this, but why do we keep silence? I’ve always been into anti illegal logging. In fact dare I say Malaysia should stop logging by all means! The only exception would be expansion of human habitats but I highly doubt that ‘s the current reason for all the logging. RM is everything. I give an example, there are countries in Europe with 0% forest! Imagine in that situation. It’s not like we are holding 100million people like it Java island.

I was about to put an entry on illegal logging in Malaysia before(I’m still planning on ti),but I read today’s sun paper. They surely took the words out of my mouth.
